Donor Programs
The work we do would not be possible without the generous contributions and support of the community. We rely on our Give Kids a Hand pledge drive, annual luncheon and other fundraising efforts to make this happen.
Give Kids a Hand Annual Campaign
Each fall, teachers and students donate generously to our Give Kids a Hand fundraising campaign. In November, students give generously to this drive that helps fund our Basic Needs program. Teachers often arrange payroll deductions so that money from their paychecks can be automatically contributed to the Foundation through this program. |
Books and Basics Annual Luncheon
Each spring, the Foundation hosts an annual fundraising luncheon that continues to grow in size and success. Local businesses sponsor luncheon tables and defer expenses, so that 100 percent of funds donated by guests can directly benefit children. The money raised goes to our Basic Needs program, which funds the Emergency Checkbook program, enabling principals to meet the emergency basic needs of students in each school. |
Gifts for Change
A Gift for Change is a special way to honor a friend or family member, colleague or classroom teacher with a contribution to the Foundation in their honor. Donations raised through this fundraising effort go directly to our Basic Needs program, funding such necessities as shoes, coats and school supplies for district students.
Honorary gift cards are sent to honorees upon receipt of each donation. Gifts for Change brochures explaining this program are available year-round in the VSDF office and are also mailed home to Vancouver School District families twice a year. |
